See commercial film on a building like yours
Solar control on one tab, decorative on the other. Try the film families on a storefront or an office before you commit an elevation, then tell us what the building is actually doing wrong.
Live preview powered by LLumar. We survey the glass before quoting: the elevation, the glazing and the hours we can work around all change the answer.
Which one are you solving
Commercial film is asked to do one of four things
Knowing which one you are solving changes the film, and it is usually not the one people expect.
Heat and cooling load
Solar film on the elevations that take the sun. The useful question is not how dark it is, it is how much solar energy it rejects while leaving the glass looking like glass from outside.
Glare
Screens, a reception desk facing a window, a dining room that becomes unusable at five o'clock. Often solved with a lighter film than people expect.
Privacy
Reflective or frosted, by floor or by room. Frosted film is also how you get a logo or a partition without buying etched glass.
Safety and security
Heavier film bonded to the pane so that when the glass breaks it stays in the frame. That is a different product rather than a heavier version of the first three.
Security film is not impact glazing and it is not a substitute for shutters: where an opening has to meet a code requirement we will tell you that rather than sell you film that does not satisfy it. The full picture on safety film, and more on commercial film. Film on a building is an improvement to real property, so no sales tax goes on the invoice.
Tell us about the glass
The elevation, roughly how much glass, and which of the four you are solving. We have been fitting commercial film on this coast since 1987 and we will survey it before quoting.
