Window tint prices, Panama City

Here is the whole card. We publish it because the alternative is you calling round four shops to find out who is cheapest, and because a price you have to ask for usually means it moves depending on who is asking. Ours does not.

Two things decide what a job costs: how much glass you want done, and which of the five LLumar films you pick. Find your row, find your column, and that is the number.

What the five films actually differ on

Not darkness. Every film here comes in a range of shades, and going darker costs nothing extra. How dark you may actually go is a separate question, and it depends on your vehicle's own glass rather than on the film: see is my window tint legal in Florida. What you are paying for as you move up the list is how much heat the film stops at the shade you chose, and how long it keeps doing it.

ATR from $289

Our entry film, and still a proper one. Metallized, blocks UV, cuts glare, and carries the same lifetime warranty as everything above it. If budget is the deciding factor this is the honest answer, not a downgrade.

CTX from $389

The first ceramic step. Nano-ceramic rather than metallized, so noticeably better heat rejection and no interference with phone signal, GPS or tire sensors.

Air from $550

Near clear. Chosen by drivers who want the heat gone without the glass looking any different, which is most of the appeal on a vehicle that is already light inside.

Pinnacle from $550

The same money as Air, aimed the other way: a full shade range rather than near clear, with ceramic heat rejection behind it.

Stratos from $689

Top of the range. The most heat stopped per shade, the widest choice of shades, and the one people pick when the car is going to be kept.

Taking old film off

Stripping failed or bubbling tint takes longer than putting the new film on, so it is a separate line and we tell you before we start rather than after. $150 for a whole car. If it is only part of it: $30 a side window, $125 a windshield, $125 the back glass, $30 a sunroof pane, $15 a visor strip. Partial work never adds up to more than the flat rate.

About tax. The prices above are before tax. Vehicle tint is taxable in Bay County at 7%, which is 6% Florida plus 1% county. Film on a house or a business is treated as an improvement to the building rather than a sale of goods, so there is no tax added to your invoice for that work.

What the number does not cover

Full coverage means every side window and the back glass. The windshield and the sunroof are their own lines, priced above, because plenty of people want one and not the other. We will say which lines apply to your vehicle before anything is cut.
